Shipping to the U.S.: Understanding A01 vs T11 Clearance
At Wefulfil, we keep storage simple and transparent.
Storage is charged per unit, per month, based on the packed size of each product.
This article explains when storage fees apply, how they’re calculated, and how we use inventory data after 60 days to help you optimise stock — without adding any hidden long-term penalties.
When Do Storage Fees Apply?
Free Storage for the First 30 Days
From the date your inventory is received and checked into our warehouse, each unit enjoys:
- ✅ 30 days of free storage
No storage fees are charged during this initial period.
Monthly Storage After Day 30
After the first 30 days:
- Storage is charged monthly
- Fees are calculated by unit (not by pallet, CBM, or weight)
- The rate depends on whether the product is larger or smaller than 10 × 10 × 10 cm
There are no extra “long-term storage” penalties at this stage — just a clear, size-based monthly fee.
How Is Storage Calculated?
Wefulfil uses a simple size threshold to determine the storage fee:
Size Threshold: 10 × 10 × 10 cm
We use 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm as the standard size threshold.
- If your product’s packed dimensions are equal to or smaller than 10 × 10 × 10 cm → it is treated as a small item
- If your product’s packed size is larger than 10 × 10 × 10 cm → it is treated as a large item
Monthly Storage Rates
After the 30-day free period:
- Small items (≤ 10 × 10 × 10 cm): ➡ 0.10 AUD per unit per month
- Large items (> 10 × 10 × 10 cm): ➡ 0.20 AUD per unit per month
📌 Storage is not billed by pallet or CBM. We only look at how many units of each SKU you store, and which size tier they fall into.
Example Calculations
Here are a few simple examples to make the calculation clearer:
Example 1 – Small Item
- Packed size: 8 × 6 × 4 cm
- Quantity in stock: 500 units
- Days in warehouse: 45 days
First 30 days: Free
Remaining period: charged for 1 month
- Storage fee = 500 units × 0.10 AUD
- Total = 50 AUD for that month
Example 2 – Large Item
- Packed size: 15 × 10 × 8 cm
- Quantity in stock: 200 units
- Days in warehouse: 70 days
First 30 days: Free
Days 31–70: counted as 1 full month (for billing)
- Storage fee = 200 units × 0.20 AUD
- Total = 40 AUD for that month
Inventory Health Check After 60 Days
Starting from Day 60, Wefulfil begins reviewing your inventory sell-through performance:
- We compare total sales vs current inventory for each SKU
- We identify SKUs that sell well and those that are building up stock
At this stage:
- There are no additional long-term storage charges
- The 60-day review is used to: Highlight slow-moving SKUs Help you decide whether to scale, slow down, or clear certain products Support smarter replenishment planning
You may receive suggestions from your AM/OM to optimise inventory based on this data.
Why Do We Charge Storage Fees This Way?
Our goal is not to turn warehousing into a profit centre.
Instead, this structure is designed to:
- Keep the fee model simple and predictable
- Encourage healthy inventory levels
- Prevent warehouses from being filled with unsold stock
- Support brands that operate with lean, test-and-scale inventory models
By using per-unit, size-based monthly fees, you always know exactly what you are paying for.
How to Avoid Unnecessary Storage Costs
To keep your storage fees as low as possible, we recommend:
- Replenish in smaller batches instead of over-stocking
- Review SKU performance after 60 days with your AM/OM
- Plan promotions or bundles for slow-moving items
- Align inbound quantities with realistic 30–60 day sales expectations
The better your sell-through rate, the lower your overall storage cost will feel in your unit economics.
Key Takeaways
- Storage is charged per unit, per month — not by pallet or CBM.
- First 30 days of storage are free for all inbound units.
- After 30 days: ≤ 10 × 10 × 10 cm: 0.10 AUD / unit / month > 10 × 10 × 10 cm: 0.20 AUD / unit / month
- From Day 60, we review your sales vs inventory, but no extra long-term fee is currently applied.
- Your AM/OM can help you plan inbound quantities and clear slow-moving stock.
